Operation Transformation is BACK and we’re ALL getting involved to celebrate their 10^th anniversary.

 

The hugely popular ‘Ireland Lights Up’ walking initiative returns in January along with the much-anticipated return of the show on January 8^th which will run through to February 26^th, which is in partnership with the GAA, Operation Transformation, and Get Ireland Walking

GAA clubs across Ireland will once again ensure ‘Ireland Lights Up’ by hosting community walking groups during the eight-week broadcast period of the hit RTÉ show. Palmerstown House has a long-standing relationship and sponsorship with St Pat’s GAA club who get heavily involved. The club support and push all those looking to get involved in Operation Transformation and we’re getting involved.

 

Over 270 clubs participated in Ireland Lights Up in 2019, with a total of 65,000 walkers getting out during the initiative. Let’s make this bigger and better than ever with everyone in Palmerstown getting behind this great community event. St Pats will host a weekly walk and we want to help and reward all of you taking part.

 

To Celebrate this fantastic event our Head Chef Beshel has created a weekly special that will have you running to the finish line. With fresh dishes like poached chicken Laksa with lemongrass and ginger.

Let’s go Palmerstown!

Palmerstown House hosted its first Ribs and Wings Weekend last week. The finger licking event launched on the 15^th of November and ran through to Sunday 17th. The event proved to be a crowd pleaser having the Palmerstown House completely run out of every ribs and wings they had to offer.

With hot and sticky dishes to get some heat into you such as Mexican style chipotle ribs served with guacamole and corn salsa it wasn’t for those with a delicate pallet. For those who really wanted to take a walk on the dark side there was the hot devil chicken wings. Leaving you quenching for a beer and having it really hit the spot.

The event which no doubt will become an annual event was the talk of the town. One customer, Annette admitting “I went in Friday and it was so good had to go back Saturday and again Sunday”.

We’re excited to see what head Chef Beshel has up his sleeve next year!

In the meantime chicken wings are a staple on our menu so if you missed out be sure to try them between now and then.

 

Rugby fans around the world are already looking forward to the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. It is the first time in the event’s history that it will take place outside the traditional heartland of the sport, and the first time it will be held in Asia.

The 6-week tournament will kick off on September 20 and will finish with the final on November 2 in Yokohama Stadium. The fixtures will be played in twelve stadiums around Japan, providing rugby fans.

Japan 2019 will be the ninth Rugby World Cup and we have the perfect guide to have you ready, plus some events kindly sponsored by Heineken for the day…

Night Before

Many players and coaches are big supporters of loading up on carbs and protein the night before watching a big game. Lucky for all you, fanatic rugby heads we have

you sorted … dig into our mouth-watering hefty, protein-packed burger with fries… mmm, yummy.

As for hydration, enjoy an ice-cold Heineken to wash it down.

 

Game Day

Hydration is key so make sure upon awakening you head straight to one of our bars showing the matches and grab a juice or coffee while you look over the menu.

Breakfast

Make sure to consume plenty of protein and carbohydrate-heavy foods to keep you fuelled for the day such as our Irish Breakfast. Which includes everything you will need to be the best supporter on the day.

Pre-Match

This should be a small meal to stock up on top of breakfast and to compliment your beer. Try our special house nachos. They will leave you replenished and ready to hit your support stance.

Palmerstown House was embracing all things Summer from August 15^th– 18^th. Each year they host a Summer Grill menu which launched in 2018. This year’s menu oozed creativity and the dishes were rich with flavor. The menu consisted of fresh, summer-based ingredients, such as Grilled fillet of seabass served with potato, buckwheat, and heirloom tomatoes. Head Chef Beshel had thought of everyone, also having a more traditional dish for those who didn’t want to venture too far into the abyss.  The olive fed fillet of pork served with spiced sweet potato and wild mushroom pie offered a spicy alternative with a twist.
